The Correlation Between Mother Working Status and Exclusive Breast Feeding Drop Out in Kedungwaru District Tulungagung Regency

Exclusive breastfeeding without food / beverage other additives in infants aged 0-6 months . Other food or drink intended for example such as formula milk , honey , or solid foods such as bananas, milk porridge, biscuits, rice gruel and tim. Pemberian exclusive breastfeeding relates to several factors, one of which maternal employment status. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship with the employment status of exclusive breastfeeding drop out. Type design is correlational with cross sectional approach. The population lactating mothers of infants aged 0-6 months a number 32. Sampling technique is total sampling. The independent variable employment status lactating mothers of infants aged 0-6 months and the dependent variable exclusive breastfeeding drop out, the data obtained from interview forms, identification card and checklist. The results are processed by the editing, coding, scoring, tabulating, analyzed with chi square. The results showed 32 respondents who worked as many as 26 respondents ( 81.25 % ) and not working a number of 6 respondents ( 18.75 % ) . Meanwhile, of the 32 respondents who experienced a primary failure as much as 12 respondents ( 37.50% ) and the failure of secondary as much as 20 respondents ( 62.50% ). The statistical test used chi square obtained count of 4.41 x2 > x2 tables 3,841 with a standard error of 5% , so that H1 accepted and H0 rejected, which means there is a connection with the employment status of exclusive breastfeeding drop out. From this research it is known that there are many mothers who experience failure in exclusive breastfeeding . Expected to health care workers, especially midwives often provide counseling on exclusive breastfeeding to expectant mothers, maternity and breastfeeding .
