Analysis Factor of Complementary Care Usage in Elderly with Osteoarthritis in Surabaya
Abstract
Introduction : Osteoarthritis is a degenerative chronic disease that is often experienced by the elderly. The chronic process of chronic osteoarthritis causes clients to choose non-medical treatments. Various factors can influence the tendency of people to choose the method of treatment for the disease. These factors may come from internal, external or client environments.
Objective : Analyze factors related to the use of complementary treatments in elderly with osteoarthritis in Surabaya.
Methods : The research used cross sectional design with cluster random sampling technique selected 101 respondents. Statistical test with multiple logistic regression.
Results : The results showed that client knowledge of osteoarthritis disease had a meaningful relationship with the selection of complementary care use in elderly with osteoarthritis with p = 0.040
Conclusions : The dominant factor that influences the selection of complementary care in elderly with osteoarthritis is client knowledge of osteoarthritis.
