THE WARM WATER BATH IS EFFECTIVE TO DECREASE SLEEP DISORDER (INSOMNIA) TO ELDERLY
The elderly experience sleep disorders and one of them is insomnia. One of the efforts to overcome insomnia is warm water bath. Warm water bath can reduce body tension and provide sedation or induce sleep. This research objective is to analyze the warm water bath toward decrease sleep disorder (insomnia) to elderly. The research design was pre-experimental research one-group pre-test post-test design. The populations were 34 respondents. The samples were 32 respondents who met the inclusion criteria using purposive sampling. The data was analyzed using Wilcoxon test to determine the influence of warm water bath. These results showed that 32 respondents experienced change of insomnia scale, with a significant level α = 0.05 and obtained p = 0.000, so the result value of the data group was p <0.05, which H1 was accepted, and it meant that there was influence of warm water bath toward decrease sleep disorder (insomnia) to elderly. It could be concluded that warm water bath can decrease insomnia scale to elderly. More over to elderly, it can lead comfort and improve quality of life to elderly.
