The Relationship of Knowledge, Attitude and Behavior with Early Stimulation Smooth Motorcycle Development of 1-3 Years Old Age at Balowerti Village Kediri

Abstract

Children need special attention from parents in order to grow and develop so healthy physically, mentally and socially. The problem is not necessarily all the mothers know early stimulation for smooth motor development for their children. Preliminary study results at balowerti village Kediri proved "from 10 children aged 1-3 years who assessed there are 4 children (40%) including normal and 6 children (60%) is not normal.

The purpose of this research is to know the correlation of knowledge, attitude and behavior of early stimulation with smooth motor development of 1-3 years old children at Balowerti village Kediri. This research is correlational analytic research with cross sectional approach. Data collection was conducted in April 2010. Samples were 92 mothers. The instrument is a questionnaire to assess knowledge, a likert scale questionnaire to assess attitudes and checklists to assess the behavior of early motor soft stimulation and test validity and reliability before use. Data were analyzed with Multiple Linear Regression data using SPSS program.

The results showed there was a correlation of knowledge with the development of smooth motor of children aged 1-3 years (p = 0.001). (R = 0,041) and direction of positive correlation (r = +0,041), there is correlation between attitude with smooth motor development of 1-3 years old child (p = 0,002) with positive and positive relationship level (r = +0,697) and there is an association of behavior of early stimulation with smooth motor development of children aged 1-3 years (p = 0,027) with low and positive relation rate (r = +0,027).

This study concludes that knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors are necessary in improving the smooth motor development of children aged 1-3 years. It is suggested that education participate in improving knowledge, attitude and behavior of early stimulation through the dissemination of information through various media either book, magazine, korang or internet media so that can be accessed by all society.
